Patty Melts with Secret Sauce

Make a patty melt with secret sauce next time you’re craving some seriously indulgent comfort food! A thin ground beef patty is layered with caramelized onions, two types of melty cheese, and a tangy secret sauce.

1 lb. Ground beef

6 Slices rye bread

½ tsp. Onion powder

½ tsp. Garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

6 Slices cheddar cheese

6 Slices provolone cheese

6 Tbsp. Butter, softened and unsalted

For the secret sauce:

¼ C. Mayonnaise

2 Tbsp. Chopped bacon pieces

3 Tbsp. Ketchup

1 tsp. Sugar

1 tsp. Relish

Form the beef into 3 flattened patties matching the shape of your bread.

Season both sides with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook the patties over medium-high heat until cooked through; remove from the pan.

Mix the secret sauce ingredients until well combined.
Wipe the skillet clean, reduce heat to medium, and butter one side of each bread slice.

Place three slices, buttered side down, in the skillet. Top with provolone, a beef patty, cheddar, and a bit of sauce on the remaining bread slices. Place them sauce side down on the skillet.

Flip the melts when the provolone melts and the bottom bread is toasted. Toast the other side and serve.
